Heyo mamas and papas,

Got a brake from studying yesterday and started building dads HTPC and since i am far from finishing the Stoned TJ07 - Project Blood SHOT, i am unable to project using sketchup, unfortunetely.

...quite a sad start for a case build but not the end of the world either... So lets move on to building on the eye skills and lets see what happens in between, probably will encounter some funny problems as i go, but its always good to have a neat challange.

On my last week in UK i managed to get my hands on the so expected Dual-Atom N330 Mini-ITX board from Zotac. Why Zotac? I think zotac is a very good manufaturer as they product are simply rock n' roll on quality build.

I managed to get hold of some pretty felixble and cheap 3mm acrylic, not that i wanted it to be flexi, but i didnt have a choice of colour or quality.

My main idea is to have a uni-body design (even though it wont be uni-body design, get it?) Neither do i...anyway...my idea is to have the main structure of the case with the lesser joints as possible. (less joints are not always good :P) but specially in my case they could be really helpful as my main acrylic part is only 3mm (thick). More joints could be much somehow good as it would reinforce the sides and etc...resuming making the main part firmer and stronger, but i been quite busy over here studying for my pilot license exams. Therefore dont expect this project to be updated with regular daily pictures because you will get disappointed in the end.

So far i had the idea of putting the slim bluray drive under the mobo which wasnt so difficult to make. I also managed to the HDD in position and i also managed to figure out to have less cables and wires to simplify the project and not let the medusa wiring take over the project. If you think well mini itx boards are cutey and tiny and a small case is always way to go, but if the wiring gets too messy u loose airflow prejudicing the lifetime of your beloved hardware by taking them to hellish temperatures.

Here are some pictures of how it looks so far, and i will try to get some more pictures of the acrylic base project without the harware on it, so you can see how simply i tried to create the layout of the components, ok? ....here are i am talking to much again...gotdammit.....

so lets move on for some shots (Please forgive me for the quality of the pictures, mum's camera is sony, and if you are a little cleaver take this as a recommendation dont buy sony, it sucks!)

The board has 3 sata ports onboard and one e-sata at the back I/O backplate.

There is a cable supplied on this config:

Male molex (input) and 3 sata female (output)

I made a new cable from scratch cause i didnt want too many cables going all over the place killing the airflow, therefore i made this config:

Input: Molex - male
Output 1 - Sata female
Output 2 - Integrated sata and power (for the slim blu-ray diskdrive)
ps- dont ask me where i got this cable now cause i cannot remember, the only thing i remember about it,. is that it was incredibly expensive in UK, i think only one shop had it, and i costed like 11 pounds, very expensive.

So i think i got it from Hong-Kong ebay seller for 2 quid or so.

Why? because the slim dvd drive needs a different sata connector and also a different power connector. They are still sata but a different specification somehow. Therefore i have everything i need so far, so no need for overcrowding cables on the case and sleek and neat cable management

gostei muito, não imaginava ser tão pequena, quase do tamanho de um cd.
muito show, o cara podia usar um hd de notebook de 7200rpm. 5400rpm é triste pra videos.

Eu comprei um de 3.5" mesmo pq queria no minimo 1TB e os hdd de 2.5" de 1TB estavam muito caros, é eh bom lembrar que a fonte que vem junto nao irá ser eficiente de ligar um Caviar Black, ou qualquer outro hdd de alta performance, sendo assim, go GREEN para consumos baixos de energia.

E o Caviar green q eu peguei é muiiiito bom!

esse tipo de projeto deve priorizar o consumo, se não é melhor comprar um aparelho blu ray, e um hd media center.

Ja tenho HDTV, RECEIVER, BLURAY e etc.

Esse vai ser o chodó HTPC ou talvez venda o peojecto quando pronto.

Esse drive de cd é um Blu-ray DVD RW tb!!!

Consegui otimos resultados com vista ultimate x64, mas estou tendo muitas dificuldades para instalar o driver NVIDIA ION pro ubuntu, entao ainda nao posso dizer como vai ser com linux.

Estou tb baixando o Win7 Ultimate x64 pra ver o desenpenho!


PS- nas primeiras fotos vc ve a fontezinha, como uma fonte de notebook, de 90W

E ai pessoal, tudo bacana?

Bom estive hj dando um update nesse case,

bom pra os que nao sabem ainda, eu comecei a fazer esse case no olho mesmo, nao teve esboço nenhum, e como a falta de grana ta grande nao tem muita ferramenta a volta pra ajudar, entao eh tudo na base da improvisação mesmo

Porem eu pretendo fazer a frente e a parte de tras na cnc pra ficar bacana o acabamento.
